Privacy policy

Last updated: October 2026. This is a translation of the German Datenschutzerklärung, which is the legally binding version.

1. In short

This website sets no cookies, uses no analytics or tracking tools and loads nothing from third-party servers; even the fonts are served from our own server. We only process personal data where it's needed to run the website (shortened server logs) and when you write to us.

3. Hosting

This website runs on a server of netcup GmbH, Daimlerstraße 25, 76185 Karlsruhe, Germany. The server is located in Germany. We have a data processing agreement with netcup according to Art. 28 GDPR. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running the website securely and reliably (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

4. Visiting the website and server logs

When you visit this website, your browser sends data to our server for technical reasons. To deliver the page, the server briefly processes your full IP address. In the log file we store:

  • your IP address, but only shortened (the first two of four blocks for IPv4, the first 32 bits for IPv6), so that it can no longer be linked to you,
  • the date and time of the request,
  • the page or file requested, the HTTP status code and the amount of data transferred,
  • the page you came from (referrer), if your browser sends it,
  • browser type and version, operating system and preferred language, as sent by your browser.

We use this data to deliver the website, find errors, and detect and fend off attacks. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is a secure and working website. The logs are deleted automatically after 14 days. They are not combined with other data.

5. No cookies, no tracking

We don't store any information on your device or read any from it (§ 25 TDDDG). There are no cookies, no audience measurement, no advertising networks and no embedded third-party content.

6. Contact by email

When you email us, we process your email address, your name if you give it, and the content of your message to handle your request. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR if your request relates to a contract or steps before one, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (our legitimate interest in answering requests). Our mailbox is run by a service provider with whom we have a data processing agreement. We delete your message once it has been dealt with, unless statutory retention periods (for example under § 257 HGB or § 147 AO for business correspondence) require us to keep it longer.

7. Encryption

This website is served over HTTPS only, so data between your browser and our server is encrypted.

8. Your rights

You have the right to

  • access the data we hold about you (Art. 15 GDPR),
  • have incorrect data corrected (Art. 16 GDPR),
  • have data erased (Art. 17 GDPR) or its processing restricted (Art. 18 GDPR),
  • data portability (Art. 20 GDPR).

Right to object: where we process data on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, you can object to this processing at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21 GDPR).

You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The authority responsible for us is: Die Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz Niedersachsen, Prinzenstraße 5, 30159 Hannover, Germany.

9. Obligation to provide data, automated decisions

You are not obliged to provide us with any data. Without the technically necessary connection data, however, the website can't be displayed, and without your email address we can't reply to you. We don't use automated decision-making, including profiling.

10. Changes

We update this privacy policy when our offering or the law changes, for example when we add a payment provider for selling our apps. The version published here applies.
